Abstract
Abstract We develop hybrid finite difference schemes arising from operator splitting to solve 2-D heat equations. We developed the Crank-Nicholson-Lax-Fredricks hybrid scheme and determine that the method is more accurate than pure Crank-Nicholson method. The method is unconditionally stable because it is Crank-Nicholson based.
