Abstract

This paper presents a Single-phase to Three-phase drive system with two parallel single-phase rectifiers, a three-phase inverter and an induction motor. It reduces the harmonic distortion at the input converter side, rectifier switch currents, reduction in the input current processed by parallel connection of rectifiers and reduction of the output voltage processed by series connection of inverters. The pulse pattern for rectifier is generated through pulse width modulation (PWM) technique. The switching pulse for inverter is generated through Space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) & Discontinuous space vector pulse width modulation (DSVPWM) techniques and both the techniques are implemented using MATLAB/SIMULINK and the response of the system is observed for SVPWM and DSVPWM.
