CANDACE BUSHNELL’S NOVEL IN RUSSIAN TRANSLATION AND READERS’ PERCEPTION

The author dwells on the Russian translation of the novel “One Fifth Avenue” by C. Bushnell trying to define its relevance to the original. General characteristics of the interpreters’ work are given here along with the analysis of some language patterns demonstrating the quality of the translation. An attempt to define the perception of this American writer by Russian readers is undertaken by collecting and commenting their responses to Bushnell’s novels on the Internet.
