Abstract

Obesity is, in effect an epidemic that requires effective measures for its prevention and management. Anesthetic challenges include premedication, mask ventilation, monitoring, airway management, intubation, and postextubation awakening. Regional block has difficulty in positioning, requirement of longer spinal needle, control of height of block. Another major problem is management of co-morbid diseases like hypertension, diabetes, CAD, and sleep aponea. This paper discusses the importance of these factors.
