Abstract
The self-care practices of children with cancer and the dependent-care practices of their parents are important. These practices were systematic based on Orem's theory of self-care. The notion of this question was to mark the abilities of participants when self-care deficits occurred. In this paper, a critique for a qualitative study was conducted. The contribution was focused mainly on the appropriateness of using Orem theory with this study. Overall, the concepts, propositions and assumptions were well used and applied. Although some weakness was found, it is recommended to make more investigations about the appropriate usage on nursing theories in research.
