Abstract

In this study, one of the interpreting methods of the Qur'an, interpreting the Qur'an with Qur'an is discussed. Understanding the Qur'an, in its own integrity, significantly requires reason and judgment when it's taken into account that Qur'an is not a book that organized according to subjects. The functions of the reason in this subject are determining the connections that actually exists between the verses of Qur'an and bringing into open the explanatory elements in these verses. Determining the connections between verses requires a deep knowledge of Qur'an. This method has been implemented since the first eras. Besides, this method is considered as the most accurate interpreting method by Ibn Teymiyye. Attributions as such, do not imply that conclusions which are concluded with this method, are admissible beyond dispute. Because these conclusions are based on sagacity of the interpreter and an intellectual phenomenon, in a sense. Authors, who claim that basing their work on the integrity of the Qur'an, yet come to the different conclusions, substantiate this thesis. The main frame of this study is Mehmet Okuyan's “Beyanatu'l Furkan” who is one of the last era implementers of this method. The interpretations of the verses which is explained by Okuyan with this method and differs from the existent interpretations of the same verses are submitted in this study. Our main purpose in this study, is not stating the accuracy of these interpretations but remarking the method which is applied to them. Whilst doing that, we made some determinations and considerations on the content.
