Abstract

Some events in social and political life of people living in lower reaches of Amu Darya in the beginning of the XX century are considered and explored in this article. These events were characterized by vivid resistance against determination of Soviet power in the region. Soviet government adopted special decrees in order to strengthen its power in the region. But these decrees restricted some rights of representatives of Tsar Power. Thus Ural Kazaks living in this region and some segments of society started People's liberation struggle against soviet power under the guidance of ataman Filtchev. These armed conflicts that took place in Amudarya department turned into peace talks and resulted in signing a peace treaty by warring parties caused by admission of soviet power by insurgents.
