Abstract

The paper is devoted to the issues of etymological work with preschool children. The urgent character of the paper consists in insufficient information in the field of peculiarities of formation of word creation at children of this age. The suggestion is made that knowledge of initial meanings of words and the ability to find a significant feature in them allows children to understand the meaning of communication more clearly and to use it in their speech correctly. The aim of the research is studying the interconnection between the basic etymological ideas at preschool children and successful character of cognitive development. The comparative analysis before and after the forming stage of experiment is presented, which shows the level of acquisition of etymological knowledge, obtained at the lessons, stimulating cognitive and verbal activity of preschool children.
