Abstract
The article gives a review to the questions of the goal orientation of the personality, examines the problems of the goals' functions from the position of the orientation. The author identifies the factors of personality which provide functioning of the goals, describes the structure of personality through the prism of the goal orientation. There is also a suggested periodization of macro and micro cycles of the human's life journey.
