Abstract
An analysis of retail accommodation object begins with the establishment of its trade area. The exact determination of its borders is very important for predicting the success of the retail outlet; the less accurate the spatial delineation, the greater the error introduced into subsequent analysis. This article gives a definition of "trading zone"; it reveals methods for the determination of its borders, widely used in international practice, and provides a comparative analysis of these methods.
