CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS AND PHARMACOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF ERYNGIUM CRETICUM- A REVIEW

The preliminary phytochemical analysis of Eryngium creticum showed that it contained alkaloids, tannins, resins, saponins, coumarin, phenols, terpenoids, flavonoids and carbohydrates. The previous pharmacological studies revealed that Eryngium creticum possessed antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive, anticancer, antileishmanial and many other effects.
