USE OF FACTS DEVICE FOR IMPROVING POWER QUALITY IN INDUSTRY

Voltage fluctuations are the common problem in the industry when nonlinear load is connected in the system. This large or rapidly changing load causes power quality issues. AC electric arc furnace is one of the nonlinear loads in the industry. The FACTS devices such as STATCOM, FCTCR were used to enhancing the performance of the electric arc furnace. In this paper, the static var compensator (SVC) device is under consideration for mitigating the flickers. For that, the model of supply, static var compensator, arc furnace will be modeled in the MATLAB simulink.
