Abstract
The paper considers some models for the explanation of variability of lithic complexes of the Late Neolithic (Early Aeneolithic) Pre-Cucuteni culture ? the Early Trypillia. Along with the wide-spread “cultural-historical” approach some others could be suggested ? raw material economy, technological repertoire, and social differentiation of flint-working.
