Abstract

This study including 28 power stations, 7 petroleum refineries, and 3 chemical factories that distributed in Iraq at Basra, Diwaniyah, Muthanna, Najaf, Babil, Baghdad, DhiQar, Karbala, Maysan, and Wasit as a case study. The concentrations of pollutants were calculated mainly by applying Rapid Assessment Inventory Technique which depending on WHO, 1993. The results indicated that all of the power stations in terms of working state for adult were about 17.85% of power stations for both summation of non-carcinogen Ingestion and dermal contact (?HI(ing) and ?HI(der)) and about 67.85% for ?HI(ing + der) were inconsistent with EPA limits which equal to (1), and for child about 75% of power stations for ?HI(ing), 78.57% for ?HI(der), and 89.3% for ?HI(Ing+der) unaccepted with EPA limits. All of the petroleum refineries and chemical factories were inconsistent with EPA limits. For simplifying, all calculations were made by the expert system (using a computer program), by used visual basic language version 6.0.
