Abstract

The clinical and pathological spectrum of lymphoproliferative disorders affecting the testis is diverse. Diffuse large B cell lymphomas constitute about 80 percent of testicular lymphomas. Extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) type in the testis is a very rare entity. In this study, we describe a 56 year old male patient who presented with painless right testicular swelling with associated B symptoms. Biopsy specimen showed diffuse malignant infiltration of pleiomorphic lymphoid cells that were phenotypically CD20 positive, CD23 negative, CD5 negative and CD10 negative.Patient received systemic chemotherapy with Cyclophosphamide,Vincristine, Prednisone (CVP) along with radiation to the opposite testis to prevent recurrence and complete remission was achieved. This case report reviews the pathogenesis, diagnosis and management of testicular mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) type lymphoma.
