Abstract
The Ottoman Empire played an essential role in the history of mankind. Following the capture of Constantinople in 1453, Istanbul turned out to be the capital of Ottoman Empire. Due to its favorable geographic location, Istanbul became the center of a young and powerful empire and united arts, culture, trade and other spheres. In the capital, except Muslims, there lived Greeks, Armenians, Jews and others. Because of the necessity to save economy and the power of the country, the Turks established financial institutions. Galata, the one of the quarters of Istanbul in collaboration with non-muslim population actively participated and played a crucial role in this case.
