Abstract
Turkey and Russia, who were enemies during the First World War, got a warmer relations towards the end of the war. One of the reasons was the National Independence movement in Turkey and the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia. Until establishment of the Soviet Union in 1922 and the Republic of Turkey in 1923, Turkish and Soviet countries provided mutual aid and had regular diplomatic relations.
