Abstract
Small-cell carcinoma of the esophagus is a rare disease, characterized by rapid progression. It is associated with a high incidence of metastatic disease at presentation and a poor overall outcome. The incidence rate of small-cell carcinoma of the esophagus ranges from 0.8 to 2.4 of all esophageal malignancies. Paraneoplastic neurological syndromes are extremely rare in patients with cancer, with an estimated incidence of 6.6. 1-5 Small cell carcinoma oesophagus presenting as paraneoplastic syndrome is extremely rare. We are presenting the case report of a 55 year old lady who presented with dysphagia who later developed weakness of all four limbs.On further work up she was found to have small cell carcinoma of oesophagus
