Abstract
On May 18, 2013 at the National Museum of History of Moldova there was opened the exhibition “Arms and Military Equipment: the Evolution in Time” based on pieces from the museum's collections. The exhibition offers the public a complete typological range of weapons from ancient times to the present (its chronology covers about 4 millennia). Most of the 788 museum pieces are presented for the first time. The exhibition is complemented with two models of medieval knights in armor, specimens of military equipment of the 18th - 19th centuries, pieces of military uniforms of the 19th - 20th centuries, paintings, etchings, and photographs depicting soldiers and battle scenes.
