Abstract
This study was conducted to assess the performance of the Non-Accountants students in State Universities and Colleges in Samar, with the end view of formulating a proposal for Self-Directed Enhancing Package in Basic Accounting for Non-Accountants.
The study utilized the descriptive-evaluative method of research. A set of questionnaires was distributed to the respective respondents. The data were analyzed using frequency and percentage distribution, mean, standard deviation and mean percentage scores (MPS). Taking all the different variables, it came out that students find difficulty in basic accounting; lacks of reference books in the library and the classroom lacks wide adjustable blackboards for accounting; and the available reference books in the library are generally outdated. Thus, a self-directed enhancing package in basic accounting was proposed based on the findings.
