Abstract
It is essential to provide an enabling environment (particularly temperature control) for premature born babies to minimize the neonatal deaths. Solar thermal energy can be utilized to keep neonates warm. This paper presents the design of solar thermal incubator system (viz., solar water heating unit and water-air heat exchanger) for accommodating five babies, which was successfully tested in a leading hospital in Mumbai, India.
