REFERENCE BOOKS FROM HISTORY OF SCIENTIFIC SOCIETIES OF UKRAINE OF XIX – EARLY XX CENTURIES AS OUTPUT OF ANALYTICAL AND SYNTHETIC PROCESSING OF PRIMARY DOCUMENTS

The article analyzed rediscovered reference books from the history of the scientific societies of Ukraine of the XIX – early XX centuries; it is defined a typology of these books and emphasized on the fact that this kind of literature is an output of analytical and synthetic processing of documentary information. It is determined that nowadays there are a variety of reference books, indexes, dictionaries, encyclopedic literature, bibliographical publications (general, sectoral, thematic, personal, bibliographical, regional), scientific- auxiliary bibliographical indexes with references. Among the scientific societies, a content of print and periodicals publications of which was subjected to bibliographical description, we distinguish the following: Historical Society of Nestor the Chronicler, Kharkiv Historical-Philological Society, Shevchenko Scientific Society, Kyiv Society of Naturalists, Kharkiv Society of Naturalists, Imperial Russian Geographical Society, Kharkiv Society of Scientific Medicine and Hygiene and others. It is proved that in future a progressive direction will be a publication of comprehensive systematic indexes of the different field scientific societies of Russian and Austro-Hungarian empires (Ukraine), especially, in the field of Exact and Natural Sciences. Some bibliographical and reference gap must be filled with the systematic indexes of the literature about the scientific societies of the XIX – early XX centuries.
