People of the Corded Ware Culture in the East Baltic Region, Lithuania

In the article are presented the main results of research in the area of the culture of battle axes from the Baltic Region, with the beginning dating to the 3rd millennium BC. Here are discussed problems about the genesis and the environment of this culture. The geographical environment (soil fertility, forest cover, water resources, etc.) played an important role in the propagation of the culture of battle axes. In the articles there is also an attempt to localize the ecological niche of the population of the battle axes culture.
