Restructuring as a perspective direction of sustainable development of an enterprise

Abstract

The article presents the analysis of the process of enterprise restructuring in the economic environment of modern Ukraine. The essence is disclosed and the main factors that influence the effective restructuring were highlighted and the directions of the increase of their efficiency were outlined. The central point of the research is given to the disclosure of restructuring as a perspective trend of sustainable development of an enterprise in modern conditions of economy and the search of the ways of increase of functional efficiency of enterprises in the process of restructuring. The necessity of creation of sufficient conditions for this process was grounded. The actuality of the problem is that generally in Ukraine financial activity of industrial enterprises is not efficient enough, 40% of them are loss-making. The profitability of operating activities of industrial enterprises is fairly low and in 2012 was 3,8%. The degree of wear of fixed assets in different spheres of industry is from 50% to 60% and sometimes higher. The proportion of material costs in the structure of operating costs is also very high. It is grounded that in the process of preference of forms and methods of enterprise restructuring it is important to take into account all factors that influence this process and first of all the analysis of external environment including direct and indirect influence on the enterprise and market situation. It is also important to provide effective management of the whole complex of problems which form the strategy of enterprise competitiveness. It should facilitate financial recovery of the enterprise, increase production volumes of competitive goods and, on the whole, increase the efficiency of production. Restructuring is held in two stages: operational and strategic restructuring. During operational restructuring we should solve two main tasks: provision of liquidity and considerable improvement of the enterprise performance. Strategic restructuring is aimed to provide increase of enterprise value during the long-term period through making investments. Strategic measures connected with the development of new business strategies, introduction of new production, management and marketing technologies, making considerable investments for modernization of production and management structures of an enterprise and development of market orientation. It is grounded that it is necessary to improve organizational and economic activity at enterprises, enhance scientific and methodological research of the problem of restructuring of enterprises. The complex and systematic approach will allow using restructuring as a perspective trend of the sustainable development of an enterprise.
