Abstract
This article deals with the problem of the search of «internal roots» of Russian lit- erary and figurative language. O. E. Mandelstam ' s, S. S. Averintsev ' s and Yu. M. Lotman ' s articles are analyzed; the Ancient Greek context of Russian verbal art tradition is considered; the Eastern concepts of Russian creative consciousness is emphasized. The author makes the analysis of the poem «Bather» by A. A. Fet from the cyclus of «Evening lights». This text is rightly interpreted on three interrelated levels: pragmatic, mythological, with the base on the ancient system of images, and creatively individual, with the focus on the eastern artistic con- tent.
