Dynamics of the «Group of Seven» 1970-1980 biennium: stage, problems, achievements

The author studies activity of «Group of Seven» in the period from 1975 to 1980, the stages of work and themes of summits. The purpose of the article is to represent the comprehensive study of activity of «Group of Seven» in the last quarter of the twentieth century. The author identified topical issues of international relations last quarter of the twentieth century, that was reflected in official documents «G7». The place and role of the «Group of seven» in solution of international problems was analyzed by the examination sources and literature. As a result of this research the author came to the conclusion that evolution of summits of «Group of Seven» passed two stages of development in 1970–1980 that radically differ from each other. If the first represented the ambition to stabilizate macroeconomic imbalances in the world, the second phase opened initiative to solve international political issues. When the the political establishment of the forum change in 1980, members of summits concentrated on a fierce debate on the problems of local conflicts, terrorism, disarmament, etc.; «Group of Seven»is shown as an effective decision-maker when there was the dismantling of «bipolar world» and the victory of the democratic revolution, «Group of Seven» positioned itself as an intellectual center of international settlement in the statements of summit.
