Abstract
Synaesthesia is a neurological phenomenon, at the grounds of which lies the stimulation of a sensory organ, which leads to a simultaneous specific feeling connected with another sensory organю. In other words, feelings of one modality as a result of stimulation of another modality. The aim of our study was to investigate the phenomenon of synaesthesia through questionnaire testing for the sake of subjective data and through series of specially devised experiments in order to support the study objectively. As a result of our study we found that synaesthetic reactions (no matter of what nature) are not strictly individual and concur among the average number of people involved in the experiment. Taste and touch feelings were statistically proved with highest validity. We were unable to prove the existence of synaesthetis reactions in auditory analyzer.
