Abstract

Regionalism (le régionalisme) as a scientific concept for the expression of the idea of fractional consideration of the spheres of science and culture appeared at the end of the XIX century, but got its real development in the twentieth century and remains important to the French-speaking area of Europe in XXI century. The article is supposed to consider the metalinguistic characteristics of the concept le régionalisme, quite controversial and contra- dictory debate, despite the broad scope of its application. The study is based on a comprehen- sive method that considers the cognitive features of the concept of regionalism in different discourses – linguistic, cultural, political and scientific. Special attention is paid to the views of Gaston Bashlar, author of rational theory of regionalism, which created the preconditions for the concept of interdisciplinary research
