Abstract
Arnold chiari malformations are group of congenital anomalies of brain characterised by cerebellar herniation through foramen magnum producing symptoms of compressive nature. Surgical correction of this compressive pathology relieves symptoms. Anaesthetising these patients requires meticulous considerations towards intracranial pressure, position and postoperative care. Hereby, we are presenting a case of Arnold chiari type 1 malformation posted for foramen magnum decompression surgery done under general anaesthesia .
