UNUSUAL THYROID TUMOURS- ANAPLASTIC CANCER AND LYMPHOMA- A REPORT OF TWO CASES

Thyroid mass presenting with a history of rapid growth and compressive symptoms is arare clinical scenario. Primary thyroid lymphoma is a rare cause of a rapidly enlarging thyroid swellingbut has a good prognosis. Anaplastic carcinoma of the thyroid, another cause of a rapidly enlargingthyroid swelling has a disease specific mortality approaching 100 percent. The approach to theserapidly enlarging thyroid lesions would include a CT Neck and Thorax followed by histopathologicaldiagnosis and then either surgery, chemotherapy or chemoradiation. We compare and contrast thesetwo entities with two cases who presented to us with a similar clinical presentation
