Abstract
In this paper, we describe a wireless broadcast system for institutions that we have developed using open-source hardware platforms, Raspberry Pi and zigbee. The system is low-cost, low power consuming and highly scalable.This system is well suited for displaying immediate notices immediately in less time for institutions. It has wide range of applications ,for example in hospitals, railway stations, airports to display notices. Raspberry Pi is cheap, flexible, fully customisable and programmable small computer embedded linux board. Message to be send is transmitted from the computer. Then this massage is send in zigbee transmitter, from where it gets transmitted serially towards zigbee receiver. Transmitted massage gets collected by zigbee receiver and then it sends it to raspberry pi. Notice board (lcd screen, monitor) will then display the massage which is interfaced to the raspberry pi. We are using processing tool software in raspberry pi for the processing of incoming massage.
