Abstract
With increasing dependence on other countries, the problems encountered in dealing with varied cultures, governments, economies and social settings are manifold. Literature review on the problems of expatriation has testimonials that human resource managers are taking ample measures to set-right the issues faced by them. The article is a review of the organizational, cultural and family problems faced by expatriates. With the support of the already existing body of knowledge, the attempt here is to assimilate the problems of expatriates depending on their stage of expatriation. It has been briefly identified as teething problems, existence problems and repatriation problems. Suggestions to overcome the problems are also given as “resolution strategies” towards the end.
