Abstract
A robot is an automatically controlled, reprogrammable, multipurpose device which may be either fixed in place or mobile for use in automation applications. The objective of this paper is to design a robot which can be controlled from a central monitoring console. The operator at the central monitoring console is provided with the blueprint of a building and he chooses the path to be traced by the robot. It is sent through a wireless interface which is received by the robot. In addition to this, the operator is provided with a visual feedback from the robot with the help of a high resolution camera. This will help the operator to know about the obstacles in the surroundings and control the vehicle accordingly.
