Abstract

The Bicherahov plans undoubtedly included the capture of Grozny. In the diary of Colonel Belikov there is a record of his “private tasks” during attacks on Vladikavkaz: “... formation of volunteer units to continue the fight against Bolsheviks (the plan included Grozny)”. In late June, the situation in Grozny region was such that Grozny Executive Committee decided to disarm the directly adjacent Grozny Cossacks village. By words of N.F. Gikalo who at the time was commanding the whole armed forces of Grozny, “it was quite obvious that if you do not disarm the village, it would rebel along with other counter-revolutionary forces one day or another... And if the time would be lost, even more forces would be transferred to help Grozny village”.
