Independent power production is widely used in the US and Europe and acquires distribution in connection with the development of renewable energy sources. At this stage of technology electricity generation using wind, solar and biomass with few exceptions, is unprofitable and subsidized by the state budget. The prospect of decentralized power production involves usage of waste gasification for generating gas and using gas as a fuel for internal combustion engines, which are used as drive for power generators.
