Abstract
The review provides a positive assessment of the monograph, in which Ye.P. Kazakov summarizes the results of many years' studies of the Paleolithic and Mesolithic period sites that are being gradually destroyed by the reservoir on the left bank of the Kama River mouth, as well as the data on excavations of Stone Age burials, unique for the territory of Tatarstan, that were discovered by him in the valley of the Ik River in the Eastern Kama area. The monograph contains complete and exhaustive characteristics of individual features of each archaeological site; it is well illustrated, and serves as a source of reliable information. The published materials are relevant to a number of problems that still remain controversial or not quite clear and are of great interest to researchers.
