Abstract
ABSTRACT In this paper a new and effective optimization algorithm is proposed known as Particle Swarm Optimization which is found to be more effective and faster than the GA techniques. The new approach determines an optimum set of weights and antenna element separations that provide a radiation pattern with reduced side lobe level with the constraint of fixed beam width. Results show that the method of particle Swarm Optimization yields results which are better than that obtainedby Genetic Algorithm.
