Abstract

ABSTRAK (IN). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif untuk mengetahui gambaran prasangka sosial masyarakat di kawasan pertambangan. Subjek penelitian adalah dua orang warga yang tinggal di kawasan pertambangan pasir dan batubara desa Timbung Kabupaten Tapin Kalimantan Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam dan observasi non-partisipan. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa Warga Desa Timbung tidak berprasangka sosial terhadap tambang pasir. Hal ini dikarenakan mereka beranggapan tambang pasir memiliki banyak keuntungan daripada kerugian, sumber mata pencaharian utama dan turun menurun. Berbeda dengan tambang batubara, Warga Desa Timbung berprasangka sosial negatif terhadap adanya tambang batubara yang lebih banyak memberikan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan serta sosial mereka, memberikan pengalaman buruk serta komunikasi yang kurang baik dari perusahaan terhadap warga. ------ ABSTRACK (EN). This study is a qualitative research to reveal the social prejudice in the mining area. Subjects were two people who live in the sand and coal mining , Timbung village, Tapin, South of Kalimantan. This study uses the technique of in-depth interviews and non-participant observation. The results of this study found that the people do not social prejudice against to sand mining. This is because they assume sand mining has many advantages than disadvantages, and the main source of livelihood to the next. Unlike the coal mining, People negative social prejudice against the presence of coal mining more negative impact on the environment and their social, give a bad experience, poor communication from the company to the people.
