Abstract
The purpose of this research is to develop an instrument assessment of competency engine practical students in SMK Automotive Engineering Program. This research sample using proportionate stratified random sampling method. Conceptually, the constructs of competency practical engine consist of three dimensions: cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (attitude). The items development statement component assessment based on expert and panelists. Through the study of expert and validation panelists selected 51 items and interrater reliability coefficient value above 0.70. The instruments tested for SMK students of class XI, as many as 275 students on the first stage and the second stage was 325 students. Empirically, through testing with a confirmatory factor analysis obtained factor loading values above 0.3 in the first and second trials. From the calculation of the value of the reliability coefficient indicates that a multidimensional construct reliability coefficient of more than 0.9 and the value of Average Variance Extracted (AVE) is greater than 0.5 in the first and second trials, which means the level of validity and reliability of assessment instruments competence automotive engine practical of SMK's students automotive engineering program classified as very high. So it can be concluded that the assessment instruments competence of automotive engine practicum have had construct validity and good reliability.
