Abstract
Alcohol addiction (alcoholism) is a chronic mental illness characterized by a predilection for alcohol and with the development of addiction on it. It is a kind of substance abuse. Alcohol addiction implies loss of control over the amount of alcohol consumed, the development of withdrawal symptoms, and toxic damage to internal organs. The problem of alcoholism is relevant because of its high prevalence, both among the adult population, and among children and adolescents. This article is devoted to the study of alcohol addiction in ISMA students of various courses. Medico-statistical treatment of the data obtained from the study among the interviewed students was carried out. It has been revealed that alcohol is abused, and also men have an alcoholism, in comparison with women; In the group of students in the age category from 17 to 21 years, more people abuse alcohol or have alcohol addiction than in the group from 22 to 25 years.
