Abstract
The review provides a brief information on the theoretical principles of the adsorption process on the surface of solids, practical problems (the study of equilibrium, kinetics and dynamics of adsorption) that must be addressed in the development of water purification technology using adsorption. The classification of adsorbents of different nature and their characteristics is considered, special attention is given to natural sorbent-diatomite.
