Objective. The objective of the article is the yustification of the necessity of further improvement of the theory of competitive development, definition of it's conceptual foundations. Methods. Following methods and techniques of knowledge areapplied during the study: theoretical generalization and comparison, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, grouping and classification, etc. Results. The necessity of introduction of the term «competitive development» into the scientific circulation is yustified, conceptual foundations of the theory of competitive development are defined, conditions and mechanisms of competitive development and competitiveness determining under globalization conditions are defined.
