THE PROSPECTS OF CREATING TOURISM CLUSTERS ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE VOLOGDA OBLAST

The scientific article presents the role of tourism sector in economy of the Vologda oblast; the key issues and a range of the most important aspects of development of tourism and control tools for the region's tourism industry are determined. According to the author, to create efficient and competitive tourism industry, we have to use all the advantages and prospects of the region, which will become a basis for implementation of strategic scenarios of tourism development. The implementation of these scenarios, active promotion of tourism products in the market is impossible without the participation of the government of the Vologda oblast. The main approach, suggested to apply to raise the investment attractiveness of the region, is the usage of cluster approach.
