Abstract

On the basis of analysis of the material collected in Karnabchul from March 22 to May 27, 2016 the actual status of the scaled reptiles (the order Squamata, comprising all lizards and snakes), their qualitative and quantitative peculiarities by the typical habitat, and negative effect of human factor on them were assessed. All in all, in the fixed sands, throughout the spring, we managed to register 15 species of the scaled reptiles (Squamata) belonging to 6 families, to name, Agamidae (n=3), Gekkonidae (n=3), Lacertidae (n=5), Varanidae (n=1), Boidae (n=2), and Colubridae (n=3). Numbers of the scaled reptiles were established to fluctuate insignificantly; there were 3.9, 3.7 and 2.9 individuals/ha in March, April and May, respectively. The habitats of lizards and snakes in the Karabchul were found to be affected by intensive man impact.
