Abstract
The studies of rural area in Alóag, the canton of Mejía, were carried out. The analysis of the registered cases of natural disasters was conducted. First of all, landslides, floods and forest fires were distinguished among the disasters, which are dangerous for population. Field studies had shown that potential risk of soil slip is higher than thought. The studied area refers to the territories with the high ecological risk.
