Abstract
The article discusses the interconnection between the students' image of the teachers' activity motivations and their research and creative activity. A special empirical study revealed two trends: if students believe the teacher's activity to be mainly based on internal motivation, they tend to choose performing a more complicated research and creative work in the subject lectured by this teacher, otherwise they are likely to choose easier forms of research and creative work. The image of motivational element of teacher's activity is not the only factor affecting the students' learning activity, but the results of our study indicate that this factor needs to be taken into account when working with students.
