Overview of e-Government Development in Gabon

Abstract The impact of e-Government on good governance in developing countries is now a certainty. Gabon is committed to the development of e-Government through a national plan. However, the initiatives taken have not yet raised Gabon in the continental top 10 countries. This study assesses the development of e-Government in Gabon by comparing it with other countries in the same region on the basis of the e- Government surveys conducted by the United Nations. This paper shows that the online services in Gabon are the component whose index should be improved. It was noted that the delay in the development of the e-Government development index is due among other things to the lack of both financial resources and infrastructure.
