Abstract

The main principle that Gestalt psychology is based on is that human mind always works better when it refers the part of knowledge to the whole that it is related to, within the framework of a normal tendency to make out the large arrays of information that one acquires and that may otherwise look chaotic and hard to deal with if not arranged in a corresponding setting or structure. An example that works great in applying the integrated Gestalt psychology approach (that we are proposing here) to a foreign language teaching / learning process is that of acquiring language skills regarding the sequence of tenses in English, reported (indirect) speech, and conditional sentences. Consequently, we are totally ensured (due to our spectacular teaching and learning positive results) and strongly support such an approach to teaching and learning processes, as it is derived from natural brain functioning processes, and is therefore a more natural approach and a more effective and less costly one.
