Though counted as the one of the most celebrated and successful writers, she is said to have suffered from bipolar disorder and depression. Recent studies show that family history and traumatic events are factors related to bipolar disorder. Virginia Woolf was sexually molested by her half siblings for nine years. Her bipolar disorder signs presented a destructive path, associated with hospitalizations, suicidal behavioral and functional impairment.
