Abstract
The research results are brought in the sphere of gas and gas-dynamic danger control during preparation openings heading through highly gassy coal seams and also measures developed for this danger reduction on the basis of gas protection instruments received data. Danger of negative gas-dynamic phenomena including sudden coal and gas outbursts initiation is the main factor which in uences the speed of preparation openings heading. It is pointed out that using preparation opening methane content data as the coal seam gas-dynamic activity indicator we can signi cantly increase the preparation gallery heading speed. Non-tensile deformation zone sizes in the coal seam contour part evaluation method based on the opening methane content is presented with the aim to justify gas and gas- dynamic danger reduction measure parameters.
